Bechar lights up the Fire in 9-0 cakewalk

SUNSHINE  Coast Fire coach Kevin A’Herne-Evans reckons a quiet word to star forward Nico Bechar this week helped inspire his side’s annihilation of Central Queensland 9-0.

Usually known for unselfish play in setting up the majority of the Fire’s goals, Bechar claimed a sensational hat-trick and assisted in three more.

A’Herne-Evans said he took Bechar aside before the match and told him to go for it.

“We sent a message to Nico this week to be a bit more ruthless and pull the trigger a bit more, and then he comes and scores three absolute belters,” A’Herne-Evans said.
