With the recent announcement from Football Queensland advising their intent to open up 3 more NPLW licenses in 2020, Sunshine Coast FC will be submitting an application.
Sunshine Coast FC currently has a very successful U9 – U13 Junior female program, whilst Technical Director Melvyn Wilkes has also been delivering weekly coaching sessions free of charge to prospective U15 & U18 players since May 2019.
Ex-Matilda Liv Latimer has now been installed at the clubs Female Technical Director, and continues to drive the female program forwards with the full support of Club TD Melvyn Wilkes.
Melvyn Wilkes commented “Sunshine Coast FC has a rich history of producing female footballers, that have gone on to represent QAS / Roar, State Teams and other representatives teams”.
“Our club has made significant strides to ensuring the female program benefits from the same support that their male counterparts receive. This includes but is not limited to Strength & Conditioning on a weekly basis, Adequate training facilities and space, as well as player development programs that cannot be rivalled, which includes our twice annual Residential programs”.
Sunshine Coast FC are seeking Expression Of Interest (EOI) for female players in the age categories U15 (2005 & 2006), U18 (2002, 2003 & 2004) & Open Women.
