Under 12 Boys – Sunshine Coast FC (4) v Brisbane City FC (3)
The 2nd minute saw Mark Shaw kick from the centre to Jett Wouters at the right of the field, who kicked towards goal – but the Brisbane City Goal Keeper dove to save the goal.
4th minute saw Brisbane City FC score with a high long-ball shot above both Sunshine Coast FC’s defensive line and Patrick Cooper’s heads. Brisbane City 1-0.
7th min had Wouters receive the ball from Shaw from the centre to the right side of the pitch to take a shot straight in the back of the net. 1-1.
The 12th minute saw Beppe Rocco pass the ball to Luke Vancam in the wing, who lined the ball back toward the goal and scored. Fire 2-1.
13 minute saw Brisbane City FC attacker put pressure Sunshine Coast FC’s defence by taking a shot on target which Cooper was able to save.
15th minute saw a back pass from a Brisbane City defender to their goalkeeper. Vancam used this opportunity to pressure the player, take the ball and score. Fire 3 -1.
Herbie Allsopp used his body to deflect a Brisbane City goal at the 18 minute mark.
35th minute saw Brisbane City FC attacking and after a messy Sunshine Coast FC defensive move, Brisbane City took the advantage to score a goal with a header. Fire 3 – 2.
40th minute saw Jeremy Byasse pass the ball from deep mid-field to Wouters who took a clear shot on target. Fire 4 – 2.
The 45th minute saw Cooper, on his debut game (as the shadow goal keeper), save a series of attacks from a keen Brisbane City attacking line.
Tanner Mathers in the 46 minute tackled hard and played the ball out well to an outside player.
The 47th minute had Brisbane City given a penalty kick for a foul in the 18-yard box. Fire 4 – 3.
The 50th minute saw Brisbane City in an off-side position attempt to score.
The 55th minute saw Dré Ngaha and Ryan Tappouras keep a strong defensive line to ensure that Brisbane City were unable to even the score.
Player of the Match: Tanner Mathers for making some hard tackles and winning the ball.
Under 13 Boys – Sunshine Coast FC (6) v Brisbane City FC (1)
Round 9 saw a top of the table clash with Sunshine Coast FC Fire and Brisbane City FC. This was the boys’ first match up for the 2017 season with Brisbane City, last meeting being in round 19 of the 2016 season, resulting in a 3-1 win for Sunshine Coast FC.
Sunshine Coast FC Fire were ready to play and eager to take the pitch after a couple of weeks of wet weather game cancellations. Sunshine Coast FC came out firing, playing a strong attacking game which resulted in their first goal on the 6th minute. Matthew Becker received the ball from Brisbane City FC Keeper James Khan kick out; Becker brought the ball down and took it up the right, then headed towards goals. A strike of the ball across the goal hit the bottom left corner. Fire 1-0
Sunshine Coast FC continued to place pressure and a high attacking game taking a number of shots on goal which were successfully saved by City keeper Khan. A counter attack down the left from Brisbane City FC resulted in a successful shot on goal equalising the scoreboard on the 15th minute. 1-1.
Sunshine Coast FC didn’t let that hinder their game and continued with their high intensity attacking game, moving the ball around the pitch to find the back of the net on the 19th minute. Again Becker brought the ball down, took it up the right wing, and headed towards goals. The Brisbane City keeper Khan placed pressure on Becker as he closed in on him. A composed cross to Kyan Bryant and Sunshine Coast FC Fire took the lead on the 19th minute 2-1.
Sunshine Coast FC continued to play a high intensity game with the Brisbane City FC defense holding strong to see out the first half with a 2-1 lead.
Sunshine Coast FC Fire returned to the pitch for the second half with as much hunger and determination as the first. The boys moved the ball through the centre of the pitch to the right with Kyle Barnes receiving the ball, which he then passed to Samuel Klein and received it back giving Barnes his first goal for the match on the 38th minute. Fire 3-1.
A foul inside the Brisbane City FC box set up the next goal for Sunshine Coast FC on the 47th minute. The penalty shot taken by Flynn Faulkner was successfully saved by Brisbane City FC keeper Khan however, Khan received a yellow for moving off his line resulting in a successful retake of the shot by Samuel Klein. Fire 4-1
Both Sunshine Coast FC and Brisbane City FC continued to remain competitive working hard to place goals on the board and defend their goals. Maxx Demerutis halted the growing momentum of the Brisbane City FC attack with a strong tackle then a pass through to Samuel Klein who placed another successful shot on goal on the 62nd minute. Fire 5-1.
The sixth and final goal for the match came on the 66th minute with the passing combination of Klein and Barnes, with Barnes sneaking the ball past the keeper. Fire 6-1
Sunshine Coast FC continued their attack until the final whistle blew.
