Former Fire player Dylan Firth has returned to the First Team after a stint at Hume City in Victoria.
The attacking midfielder played with the Fire throughout the Championship-winning 2012 season.
“After having a year off football I decided to get back into it so I went down to the Fire trials and became part of the team,” he said.
“Last year we had an awesome season, with a great group of players in the squad.”
Some of Firth’s highlights during his time at the Fire included scoring his first senior goal against rivals the Strikers, and winning the QSL Championship.
Firth started playing football when he was just four years old, and has also previously played for the Blacktown Demons and Brisbane City. At the start of this season he headed to Victoria to play for Hume City FC, an experience he said helped his football development.
“It was a very professional down there; mixing with a team of experienced footballers from all over the world helped me learn as a player,” Firth said.
Firth started training with the Fire again for the past two weeks, and said it would be exciting to see how the team would go for the rest of the season, hopefully making the finals.
“There is definitely another good bunch of players at the Fire this year,” he said.
