NPL Round 21 Match Guide

NPL Round 21 Match Guide

From the Technical Director

Welcome to our visitors from Brisbane City FC.

After a great performance from both the Senior Men and U18s last Saturday against a very strong Lions FC, although the score line didn’t reflect it, both teams performed excellently.

World Cup fever is nearly at its conclusion, congratulation to both France and Croatia in making the finals. And then it will be down to Belgium and England to battle it out for third and fourth place respectively. I went with Belgium to win the tournament, so I was far off the mark.

In club news, all teams have just come off the back of the July Maintenance Residential Program at our partner school, Peregian Beach College. We managed to conduct approximately 5 weeks’ worth of work in the three days each group attended. The next block will be in January 2019 as part of the pre-season program.

We said goodbye to one of our U18 players, Matei Cavalucci who moves on educational exchange in France, Matei was a great addition to our U18 squad and we will miss him.

There is lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes, and we will make announcements in due course.

Enjoy the football,

– Melvyn Wilkes

Under 18 Boys

Senior Men

Today we welcome Brisbane City FC to the Sunshine Coast for our NPL fixture and wish them the best of luck.

Talking about luck it would be fair to say we don’t seem to be able to buy any at the moment.

With injuries to key playing personnel hindering any momentum we achieve, the younger players have been tremendous in stepping up and filling the spots when called upon and today will be no different.

The commitment shown by everyone is what will prove to be a key factor in these very testing times, and by continuing to work hard for each other and improve everyone will get the results they deserve.

Good luck today,

– Richard Hudson
