NPL Round 26 Match Guide

NPL Round 26 Match Guide

From the Technical Director

Welcome to our visitors from the Gold Coast in our last Senior fixture of the 2018 NPL season against Gold Coast United.

It has been a very challenging campaign, but with a clear road in front of us, we have started to put down the foundations to move things forwards at the top end of the club.

Richard has done a tremendous job since coming back on board, and brought in the detail of professionalism that is required at NPL level.

All players are now beginning to find their feet, as the more experienced players in the group assist Richard in galvanising the young but energetic squad for the new campaign in 2019.

Today sees our French visa player Nico Huet play his last fixture before heading back over to France for the off season, we thank Nico for his hard work and contribution and wish him a safe journey and a well-earned break.

Also a mention to our captain James Stinson who has re-joined us mid-season whilst Richard worked through the challenges of getting the top 3 sides back on track. We look to have James back with us for 2019 which will provide Richard and the staff a real opportunity to put the Fire back where they belong starting in 2019.

I thank all the Senior players and staff for the hard work and commitment in 2018, and I look forward to seeing everyone back on the 21st October for the commencement of pre-season training.

Also a massive thank-you to the volunteers who help out on match days, Matt Tempest, Ally McCann, Lane Emery and also my better half Emily. Thank-you to you all.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the club owners and major sponsors the Woodall family, again without their significant financial contribution the club wouldn’t have the resources to operate at this level.

I also thank all of our 2018 sponsors, who have supported Sunshine Coast FC in 2018.

If anyone is interested in discussing sponsorship opportunities in 2019 and beyond, please email admin@sunshinecoastfc.com.au

Trials for U18’s, U20’s & Senior Men will run alongside the commencement of pre-season training which will commence on 21st October 2018, any players who are interested in coming along, are asked to register your interest by emailing admin@sunshinecoastfc.com.au

Our September/October Holiday Camp is now open for registration and spaces are filling up fast.

Enjoy the football

Senior Men

Today is the last home fixture of the 2018 league campaign and we welcome Gold Coast United to the Sunshine Coast.

The campaign itself has been a roller coaster and filled with plenty of challenges that go with NPL football.

The results on the field have not been eye catching but that’s not from the lack of commitment and desire from the players and management, and for that I thank everyone involved who remained focused throughout our difficult season.

The one thing that has been achieved is the ship has been steadied and it’s a brand new fresh start for everyone who wants to be involved in the senior side of our club.

There will be plenty of new faces trialling on Sunday October 21st as we start our new pre-season/ trial period. Personally, I am really looking forward to re-building for the new season.

Thank you again to everyone, supporters, players and management, enjoy your rest, as it all kicks off again SOON.

Best wishes,

– Richard Hudson
