From the Technical Director

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our visitors from Redlands United FC as we look forward to a good day of football from the Junior at Western Fields and Seniors at the Sunshine Coast Stadium.

It has been a very busy and productive week both on and off the field, as Ali Demircan and his Senior staff prepare their troops for a tough encounter V Redlands Seniors, whilst all junior staff prepare for their counterparts in the junior section.

Our April Holiday Camp dates have been released 9th April – 12th April inclusive.

We have started our preparations for 2019 and beyond as we look to press forward and move the club on.

We have exciting projects involving some major global football clubs and institutions which we are hopeful to release to the public in the not so distant future, this will see some of Europe’s football powerhouses involved with Sunshine Coast FC.

A warm welcome to all of our 2018 club and player sponsors, and please be sure to visit the SCFC Business Directory.

I look forward to seeing you all.

Best wishes,

– Melvyn Wilkes

From the Under 20’s Head Coach

Sunshine Coast Fire welcomes Redlands Under 20 side today in what promises to be a tough encounter. Redlands have started the season well, with some good wins over Moreton Bay and Gold Coast United, so it will be a great test for our players.

We head into the match in good spirits, despite defeats to Brisbane Roar and Western Pride in the past two rounds. Those matches against sides that will most probably be challenging for finals spots have given the boys an idea of what level we need to get to as the year progresses and given the coaching staff a good indication as to what we require to work on at training.

Becoming hard to score against will be a focus, and while it is something that will take time, young defenders such as Josiah Becsi and James Daniel-Lawler have shown great improvement already this season and I look forward to watching them progress through the ranks in the coming seasons.

Thank you all for coming out to support the boys today.  Hopefully we can reward your support with a good performance and three points.
