Jayde Lowe has claimed an impressive four goal haul, as Gold Coast City eased to a resounding 6-1 win over Sunshine Coast FC in the PS4 NPL Women’s Queensland on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors started brightly and would take the early lead, with a spilled ball from third choice Fire goalkeeper Lana Prior coming off Lowe and rolling into the net.
From there, Gold Coast City claimed control and got their second goal just after 30 minutes, with Lowe’s shot fumbled over the line for her second of the afternoon.
The Fire would hit back soon after, however, with Joanna Purvis’ brilliantly struck free kick looping over Ellen Hepburn to halve the deficit.
Gold Coast City would soon regain their two goal buffer, with Teleya Reynolds converting from the penalty spot ten minutes after half time.
It would be all Gold Coast from this point onwards, with Jayde Lowe claiming her hat-trick from the spot just after the hour mark before grabbing a fourth late on, while Emily Benton added the other goal.
The big win sees Gold Coast City claim their first points of the Playstation 4 NPL Women’s Queensland season, while Sunshine Coast remain near the bottom of the ladder.
