Sunshine Coast FC Senior Women’s Goalkeeper, Katie Offer, has been selected to play in the National Premier Leagues in Sydney to back-up and train alongside the current Matilda’s training squad GK.
Katie said ‘I thank the Fire for the opportunity the club has provided to me to learn as a goalkeeper. I have made many life-long friends through the girls I have played with, but now leaving school and given the opportunity I have been presented with, it’s an ideal time whilst I’m able to defer studies, to take the opportunity in Sydney to give it a go’.
SCFC Fire Technical Director Melvyn Wilkes added that Katie has been a dream to have around the club both as a player but as a person as well. ‘Katie’s contribution on the pitch has helped to place the Senior Women’s team as a NPL ladder contender over the past couple of seasons.’
Katie leaves with the club’s full support and blessing as she starts another chapter in her football career. We wish Katie well on her football journey.
This now opens up the opportunity for the next young talent to join the succession of female players who have progressed from the Fire to test themselves in the NPL playing against the very best of female footballers in Queensland.
Sunshine Coast FC has a huge passion and successful history for developing female footballers who have moved on to W League football. Any female player who would like the opportunity to come in a trial and be viewed can do so by contacting admin@sunshinecoastfc.com.au
