The success of Sunshine Coast FC’s player development system and PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland pathway continues to be proven as 11 players have been selected for Football Queensland’s Skills Acquisition Program Camp.
Just over half of Fire’s Under-12 Boys team have been selected so far including, Kyan Bryant, Samuel Klein, Dimitri Westwood-Pritchard, Kane Gibbs, Maxx Demerutis, Flynn Faulkner, Kyle Barnes and Ben Nassiep.
Each of the boys progressed through Sunshine Coast FC’s Elite Academy and SAP programs over the last several years to finally start their first season in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Under-12 Boys team in 2016.
The Fire Under-12 Boys’ team have racked up 42 goals in their last five games and their hard work is paying off as their selection signifies them as being among the best players in Queensland for their age group.
Kyan Bryant was in Sunshine Coast FC’s Elite Academy for two years and SAP academy for one year prior to successfully trialling for the Fire Under-12 Boys.
“I loved being at Elite Academy and SAP; the coaches taught me a lot, like better passing, shooting, control and being able to run with the ball better,” Kyan said.
“I really like playing for Fire, we’ve been doing pretty good so far and I’m excited for the rest of the season,” he said.
Kyan’s mum, Alinda Bryant commends the Club’s coaching staff for their approach to development coaching.
“Fire has offered Kyan a lot of opportunities for a variety of training with experienced coaches throughout the last three years,” Alinda said.
“The different styles of coach training has been excellent in developing him as a more rounded player and ultimately allowed him to become part of an NPL team this year,” Alinda concluded.
