Would your son or daughter like the opportunity to learn football skills with accredited coaches in a fun environment?
This Easter school holidays, Sunshine Coast FC are offering two four-day training camps for young footballers aged five to 16 years.
The camps are based around the FFA curriculum and offer an unparalleled learning opportunity for children wanting to accelerate their football skill acquisition.
Sunshine Coast FC coach Ben Cahn will be one of the coaches involved with the Easter Holiday Camp, and he is looking forward to providing training which is fun as well as informative.
“All our sessions are fun-based and the coaches are there to have a good time themselves,” he said.
Each child will be placed into a group that suits their development and enjoyment needs.
“The groups will have a good mix of experience levels and players will be encouraged to help each other through the day.”
The key areas incorporated into the training are first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball and 1v1.
Ben said the morning sessions of each day would include juggling competitions, passing and receiving practices and some ball mastery. There will then be 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments before the group will break for lunch. Each day will finish off with a World-Cup style tournament.
The coaching staff at each camp will include Alex Barlow, Fire First Team player and Under 13 Boys NPL coach; Paul Arnison, Fire First Team player and Under 18 Boys NPL coach; and Ben Cahn, Under 14 Boys NPL coach.
International First Team players such as Takanori Sato and Keito Tahara will also be assisting the coaches and demonstrating what it takes to play in the Fire First Team.
There are also opportunities for players to be identified for the Sunshine Coast FC Academy.
The first camp will take place at Kawana State School from Tuesday, April 2 to Friday, April 5. Training will start at 9:00am and finish at 12:00pm.
The second camp will take place at Peregian Sports Complex from Monday, April 8 to Thursday, April 11. Training will start at 9:00am and finish at 12:00pm.
All players will receive 12 hours of coaching and a t-shirt or supporter’s shirt.
There are still places available so do not miss out on this great training opportunity.
