Under 12 Boys – Moreton Bay United FC (1) v Sunshine Coast FC (2)
The last game of the season and the U12 Fire Boys were looking to complete their successful season on a high. Moreton Bay weren’t going make it easy challenging Fire all the way.
The Fire boys made their mark on the scoreboard first, when a pass through to Kyle Barnes saw him take the ball up the wing and with a composed strike of the ball, it hit the back of the net on the 8th minute. Fire 1-0
The slippery conditions saw both teams hit the deck numerous times and miss opportunities to place results on the board. A lapse in concentration by Fire and some great play by Moreton Bay saw them equalise the score on the 23rd minute and lead us into half time 1-1.
The second half Fire came out with more composure and determination, utilising all their players to push forward. A pass back to Maxx Demerutis, forward to Flynn Faulkner and out to Kyan Bryant saw him take it up the left wing. With the Moreton Bay keeper off his mark Bryant passed through to Samuel Klein in the centre and Fire scored their second goal on the 44th minute. Fire 2-1
The defensive team of Harrison Whitelaw, Jacob Reid, Jack Connors and Josh Whisker held strong. On the 59th minute Moreton Bay drew a free outside of the Fire’s goal box.
