The Sunshine Coast Fire is committed to developing footballers to their maximum potential in the Sunshine Coast! With a two-tiered structure (Junior Development Club & FQ Academy), we currently support over 200 male footballers from Under 8’s all the way up to Senior Men’s football.
With the goal of developing our program to 100% full time by 2025, we currently have 125+ male footballers training 16+ hours a week in partnership with Peregian Beach College.
Over the last 15 years the Fire have developed a consistent and recognizable brand of football that promotes a holistic, player centered approach to learning with a focus on developing the Sunshine Coast footballer for our senior teams and beyond.
We believe in playing a proactive attacking style of football with the aim of creating as many chances as possible along with an aggressive approach to defending in both the opposition’s half and our own.
When attending a Fire session you can feel a recognisable energy from under 8’s to Seniors. We believe in a unified approach to playing, coaching and being. This has been developed and evolved from our roots as a leader in the QSL to now being a major influence on player development in Queensland.
Today, we can count more than 60 players that have progressed from our Academy to now representing the State of Queensland, both male and female, with players also heading to the Professional level including Jerrad Tyson, Joshua Nisbett and Jez Lofthouse, to name a few.
