An early goal from Fire after pressure early on in the match. Good work on the left from Debbage who beat his player and crossed the ball. Petcos finished with a strong finish. (1v0, 3mins)
Fire played well across the park and played good football in parts. Late in the first half, Fire scored a deserved second goal, good possession in midfield. Emery picked up the ball outside the box before going on an excellent run weaving past defenders into the box, before a good strike with his left foot. (2v0, half time)
The Fire came together as a team and worked hard for each other in the second half with Taylan Salih having a quiet half due to the Fire’s strong defence.
The final goal came courtesy of two more of the Fire’s injured players. Debbage grabbed his 2nd assist, playing at left back beat a few players before shooting strongly from the edge of the box. The goalkeeper could only parry and Patterson slotted home an easy chance. (3v0, full time)

Sunshine Coast Fire (7) v Redlands United FC (1)
After a shock defeat to Redlands in their last encounter, the Fire was focused on redeeming themselves and putting on a good performance for their Sunshine Coast Stadium fixture.
Fire dominated the play from the opening whistle, so their first goal came quickly in the 2nd minute when Kaelan Debbage crossed the ball in from a corner to find the head of Budd Baublys, but the ball hit the side post to go back into play and land at the feet of Daniel Cuttler to place into the bottom right of goal. (1-0)
The Fire was pressing high and putting the Redlands defence under pressure when they tried to play out, which gave them little room to move.
Redlands could not match the tempo of the Fire and in the 10th minute Tom Whittaker made a great run up the right wing to outpace several players, cut in and pass through for Daniel Cuttler to clinically finish into goal. (2-0)
Kaelan Debbage and Oliver Williams were creating headaches for Redlands with their pressure and desire to win the ball. Harrison Bowen was also solid in defence by intercepting and shutting down the through balls.
Owen Brader won the ball near the sideline in the 19th minute to pass through for Tom Whittaker to flick the ball on and Oli Williams made certain to drive the ball into the goal. (3-0)
Only 2 minutes later Owen Brader nearly extended the lead, but a nice double save by the Redlands GK denied him of a goal.
In the 22nd minute, Sean Bentley received a Yellow Card for a foul tackle.
Redlands player Byron McLeod, had their first attempt at goal in the 23rd minute, but he tried to peel the leather off the ball and the shot went over the crossbar.
Looking strong and in control, Budd Baublys won the ball and made a fantastic run up the right wing, leaving several Redland players in his wake to cut in and finish superbly into goal. (4-0)
Harry Fletcher made a crucial tackle when Byron McLeod was away with the ball and heading towards goal in the 27th minute.
After a 1-2 combination play between Archie Waterson and Daniel Cuttler in the 30th minute, the ball was passed through for Mackenar Bradfield to strike the ball, but it hit the crossbar and deflected in for the waiting Daniel Cuttler to calmly head the ball into goal. (5-0)
The second half was similar to the first, with the Fire showing their dominance and creating some great opportunities. Owen Brader was straight into attack in the 35th minute with a lob shot at goal but it went straight to Redlands GK.
A turn over by the Fire defence saw GK Kurt Moore-Barnard make a quick save in the 39th minute.
A well-executed corner in the 41st minute saw a 1-2 between Kaelan Debbage and Archie Waterson and Debbage crossed the ball in to find the head of Tom Whittaker but unfortunately the ball hit the left post.
In the 45th minute, Owen Brader placed a great ball through for Kaelan Debbage to power shoot from 20 yards out and place in the top right of goal. (6-0)
Over the next several minutes, Fire created some great combination football and had a few chances at goal including a great run by Tom Whittaker through the midfield to cut the ball in across the face of goal but it was cleared just before Mackenar Bradfield could get a boot on it.
Archie Waterson showed his skill on the ball in the 63rd minute to perfectly place the ball through for Daniel Cuttler to score his fourth and final goal. (7-0)
It looked like being a scoreless fixture for Redlands, but in the 65th minute a ball was crossed into the centre for Ryan O’Connor to make an unstoppable shot into the left of goal. (7-1)
Playing at the Stadium and on a bigger pitch allowed the team to move the ball forward and play into space. This helped the team to hold their shape and create some combination plays that allowed for some great individual performances. The Fire controlled the game from start to finish and came away with a fantastic 7-1 win.

Sunshine Coast played into a very strong wind in the first half and as a result took a few minutes to adjust to the conditions, with the first chance falling to Redlands as a shot from outside the box flew just wide.
Once Fire settled though we began to gain control of the ball for longer periods and looked especially threatening on the right hand side.
On 13 minutes Fire took the lead after a good ball from Max Foottit found Taj Suffolk out wide on the right. Suffolk dribbled through two players before playing in Terone Wattegedara who coolly slotted the ball in the bottom left corner.
We should have had a second minutes later when some great combination play between Tom Croft and Taj Suffolk resulted in a great chance for Suffolk who had a shot from five yards brilliantly saved by the Redlands keeper.
On 22 minutes Redlands had the chance to equalize after winning possession in the midfield and playing in the winger whose cross was headed just wide.
Sunshine Coast took control of much of the play for the remainder of the half and had a few chances to add to the lead, with Wattegedara having two chances saved by the keeper.
With a strong wind at our backs, Sunshine Coast were in control of the second half early, with some good pressure being applied to Redlands defence and midfield.
On 41 minutes some good work on the left side between Aiden Castillo and Jared Schulz released Terone Wattegedara who had his shot go just wide.
Redlands failure to clear from the resultant corner saw Fire double the lead after a cross from Mitchell Bridge found Jared Schultz who angled a header into the corner of the net leaving the keeper without a chance.
Another good chance was headed over the top by Bailey Waern as Fire looked to kill the game off and then in the 56th minute some great work from Waern made it 3-0 as he won possession on the half way line, drove forward on a 15 yard run before rifling a shot into the top corner from 35 yards that never looked like missing.
Some good interplay between Brayden Huston, Tom Croft and Terone Wattegedara almost made it 4-0, while Tyson Williams also looked busy in the attacking midfield role and had a good chance go just wide as well.
Against the run of play Redlands got a goal back after a free kick on the edge of the box saw the shot deflect off the wall and into the path of a Redlands striker who finished well.
Despite Redlands pushing numbers forward, they were unable to create any more chances with the back 4 doing a good job of stifling their forwards.
The final chances of the match all fell Fire’s way, however some good keeping kept the score line at 3-1 when the final whistle went.

Sunshine Coast Fire (2) v Palm Beach SC Sharks (5)
The U15G fought hard against Palm Beach, despite being down in numbers and playing in rough conditions. Rough, muddy ground hurt the girls passing game through the middle. However, the girls found other ways to get through the defence, playing excellent killer balls through the Palm Beach defence to the corners.
The Fire girls did very well in the first half coming back from goals from Palm Beach by finishing the half trailing by one goal. Palm Beach scored 3 goals while Fire scored 2 goals, both by Alex Cannon. In the second half Fire battled against the wind. Palm Beach was able to net another 2 goals set up by excellent corner kicks. While a loss, the game reflected the girls’ perseverance throughout the season and coming together as a team to overcome injuries and playing short of players.

Sunshine Coast Fire (6) v Redlands United FC (1)
In sunny but windy conditions, the Fire Under 16 Boys hosted Redlands in the much anticipated home game in the stadium. Fire won away to Redlands 3-1 in the first round and were keen to back up their win of last week against league leaders Strikers with another solid performance on the good playing surface and open spaces of the stadium field.
Redlands won the toss and kicked with the wind but neither team had the better of the early exchanges.
After 7 minutes Redlands won a free kick wide on their left 10 metres into the Fire’s half. Using the wind the ball was played deep into the Fire penalty area and although Josh Wall took the ball cleanly as he landed he was falling backwards into the goal. There was conjecture as to whether the ball had already crossed the line when Josh tossed the ball back into play as he landed and the Redlands attacker was on hand to tap in and leave it in no doubt. 1-0 to Redlands.
The goal unsettled Fire and they were struggling to find any rhythm and could not maintain possession as their pass completion was poor. Redlands on the other hand after scoring settled into a possession based game and looked the better of the two teams at this stage.
After 15 mins Fire began to create more chances and after a passing movement through the Fire midfield Kobe Fuller put Matt Cann through on goal only to see his shot rise over the bar. Further chances came to Aiden Wall and Callum Jones as Fire clawed their way back into the game.
However Fire were not able to capitalise until the 27th minute when Kobe Fuller gathered the ball in midfield and took on the Redlands defence and slotted home a low ball at the far post to make it 1-1.
Fire were building momentum but they still had to defend consecutive corners in the 32nd minute before they could scramble the ball to safety.
In the 36th minute Abe Reeves used his pace well to get in behind the Redlands defence down the right but he needed a second attempt to get his cross over. The Redlands defence could only deflect the ball to Kobe Fuller just outside the box who calmly placed a neat short ball to Jack Bowen in space who made no mistake with his shot to put Fire ahead 2-1.
The Fire second goal saw them finishing the half the stronger of the two teams as Redlands surrendered the upper hand. Two minutes later Addison Brader took on the Redlands defence from midfield and his low hard shot pin-balled off the Redlands keeper into Fire’s Aiden Wall back onto the keeper flush in the face and back off Aiden into the goal to make 3-1 to Fire.
Just on half time Fire had their best passing movement between a number of players through the middle of the park which culminated in Jack Bowen getting a shot on goal, but the score remained 3-1 to the Fire at half time.
After half time Fire went straight on the attack again and Ollie Blackmore found Aiden Wall wide on the right. Aiden’s cross found the head of Kobe Fuller but his header was just wide.
Two minutes later Kobe Fuller was again the provider putting Abe Reeves through on the right and Abe again caused the Redlands defence concern with his pace. This time Abe was able to finish his own work off with a goal on the second attempt as the ball was deflected back to him from his first attempt and he made no mistake with the second to make it 4-1 to the Fire.
Fire were well in control now and held possession for long periods as Redlands sat back deeper as the fight was draining out of them.
Further chances came to the Fire’s Nick Kirkpatrick and for Kobe Fuller in a one on one with the keeper, and Callum Jones won the ball in midfield and put Jack Bowen though on goal with a shallow diagonal ball in behind the Redlands defence only to see the keeper come quickly off his line to block Jack’s shot.
Despite creating chances Fire did not score again until the 76th minute when the ball found its way to the feet of Kye Yamaoka-Chapman from a crowded goal mouth and Kye buried it into the net from close range to make it 5-1.
Still not finished the Fire attacked again two minutes later with Addison Brader getting into the box and drilling a rising ball into the top of the net to make it 6-1.
Despite a slow start in the first half Fire came home strongly in the second half and may have scored more goals with the number of chances created. It made the stadium game one to remember however and keep the Fire 16 Boys in their winning way.

Sunshine Coast Fire (0) v Palm Beach SC Sharks (3)
The match was a much closer contest than the score line suggests, with the score 0-0 at half time. Sunshine Coast Fire created a number of opportunities but somehow the ball stayed out the net for the Fire today.
The Palm Beach girls piled on the pressure early in the second half that forced errors resulting in three goals being conceded within 20 minutes.
