Fire unveil three new signings

Sunshine Coast FC has boosted its squad for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season by adding former Sunshine Coast Premier League players Jeremy Stewart and Chris Jancevski alongside returning right-back Tim Hollingworth.

Stewart will make his debut in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland in 2016 after netting 22 goals in 19 appearances for Kawana SC in 2015 and says he is ready for the challenge.

“It’s a new experience and a new challenge for me, to play in a higher level competition against the highest quality players in Queensland,” he said.

“The NPL is a much stronger competition than the local leagues. Every NPL team brings their all each week so there are no easy games, which I’m looking forward to,” Stewart said.

Jancevski said that he is excited to play his first season as a senior player in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland for Sunshine Coast FC.

“It’s going to be a much quicker game in the NPL compared to the local league and everyone is going to be a lot fitter,” he said.

Jancevski previously played for Sunshine Coast FC’s Under-18 Boys in 2013 and spent two years at Noosa Lions FC.

“I needed to get out of the local league and playing for Fire is a good pathway to go higher if I want to,” Jancevski said.

“I’m from the Coast, so I know a lot of the boys on the team already. I’m looking to learn as much as I can and see where that takes me,” he said.

Sunshine Coast FC Coach Paul Arnison said he thinks both players are ready to step up to the next level.

“Chris was on my Under 18’s team two years ago, he’s done well at community level and he’s at the right age to push on to the NPL,” he said.

“I watched Jeremy last year, he doesn’t have any fear and he has great pace. He’s one of the best players on the Coast and I think he’ll give one of the better performances in the NPL next year,” he said.

“It’s great to have Timmy back for next year. He was out for the end of last season because of an injury, but he’ll be healthy and ready for 2016,” he concluded.
