The club are delighted to announce that we will be returning to elite girls football on the Sunshine Coast. This year the club will be running teams at U9/U10 & U11/U12 in the SAP programme. In other great news, Olivia Latimer has signed on to be Lead Coach for both teams. Olivia brings with her a wealth of playing experience having previously been a Young Matilda and part of the Australian Olympic development squad in 2004. Liv has spent the last few years training and mentoring young female soccer players on the coast and will continue her great work at the club. Speaking on the announcement Fire Technical Director Melvyn Wilkes said “After all the success we have had in the past developing junior female players. We are delighted that we have our girls back at the club. We are looking forward to continuing to embrace and nurture these young ladies into future matildas." Melvyn also spoke about the importance of Oliva’s role as Lead Coach. “We are also delighted to have Liv Latimer spearheading the female section, and look forward to having Liv as a much valued part of our club and staff.” Training commences on the 7th of November and the club are looking forward to welcoming the girls into the Fire family. We still have limited spaces available. Contact our programme director Gareth by email at SAP@Sunshinecoastfc.com.au to find out more.
