It’s been over a month since we’ve played at the Stadium and the players are looking forward to our fixture against Brisbane City which marks the halfway point of the season.
The team played well last weekend up in Cairns and despite going down 2-0 in the first half they fought really hard and created several chances. We unlucky not to take one of those chances and with time running out as we pushed we conceded a third which effectively sealed the match for Cairns. With six of the squad still U18 it was a great effort from all the players and showed that we can compete for a full ninety minutes.
We hope to maintain that type of performance this weekend against Brisbane City but acknowledge that they are a top four side and we will have to play at our best to get something from the game. The attitude in training this week has been really good as the players push themselves and each other to be better. We hope that translates onto the pitch Sunday.
Once again we look forward to seeing you Sunday and appreciate the fact that you take the time out of your weekend to come and support us.
