Welcome all to our last home games in the Stadium of the year with out Under 18 Boys, Women and Men taking part in today’s matches.

The Under 18 Boys kick off the day at 10am against Olympic FC in what should be a great opener for the day.

It is a sad day as we see the Fire Women play their last game at the Sunshine Coast Stadium today. They have given plenty of top teams a run for their money this season under the direction of Tom White, who has done a stellar job the past couple of seasons. Best of luck to the Women today, I hope they put on a showstopper of a match against the University of Queensland FC.

Finally, we have the Men taking on our friends from up Far North Queensland today. FNQ came out on top in their last meeting but today they will face a far more put together Fire squad with some fresh faces.

Best of luck to all teams today.

GO THE FIRE!!

From the Senior Men’s Head Coach

[quote align=”center” color=”#hex”]

It’s our last home game of the season and we welcome the Far North Queensland Heat to the Stadium today. Our last encounter ended in a 3-0 loss and was hard fought. We were in the game for long periods, created some good chances and only conceded the third in the last five minutes as we pushed for a goal.

Midweek we played Moreton Bay and played really well in the first half, unfortunately we could not maintain the intensity in the second half. Some injuries to Kurtis Modlin, who was unable to start the second half and Terone Wattegedara didn’t help so Moreton Bay ran out winners. Both will most likely be missing today if not longer.

One positive over the last couple of games has been the addition of Taj Hudson, who joined us from Maroochydore. He has slotted into the squad very well and has shown his ability in the last couple of games. Each training session he is improving as he starts to understand our style and learns how the other players play.

Lastly a big thanks to all of you who have turned up to watch us this season, despite the results you have still been there to support the club and it mean a lot to the players and the coaching staff. Hopefully we can repay you this weekend with a result!
