Match Report: Fire U18 Boys V Coolum FC Reserves

Sunshine Coast Fire U18 Boys 4 v Coolum FC Reserves 0.

The young Fire U18 Boys dominated field position and possession to secure a convincing 4-0 win in their first pre-season match against Coolum Reserves.

The Fire took control of the game from the first whistle, creating numerous chances which ended with shots on goal, however the Coolum goal keeper was in great form and limited the Fire to just two goals in the first half.
Jacob Fulluck was the first to score in the 11th minute. Jesse Wilson made a run down the right, cut inside and took a shot on goal which the Coolum keeper saved to his right-hand side, parrying the ball to Fulluck to slot into the empty net.

The Fire gained a second goal just ten minutes later as Josh Sancusie beat his marker down the left-hand side and centred the ball for and Jesse Wilson to tap in.

The Fire continued to dominate possession in the second-half and create more goal-scoring chances. Only a fine display from the Coolum goal keeper prevented the scoreline from blowing out in the Fire’s favour.

Matt Kennedy scored the Fire’s third goal in the 61st minute with a well-taking strike from the edge of the box after good build-up play in the midfield. Jesse Wilson sealed the Fire’s win in the 72nd minute as he dribbled through Coolum’s defence in the box and tapped the ball into goal.

Coach Paul Arnison said the match was a strong start for the relatively new team.
