Sunshine Coast FC has announced its first signing of the New Year for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2017 season in the form of Tasmanian winger Scott Murray.
The 22-year-old previously played in NPL TAS outfit Northern Rangers in 2012 and spent the last two years at American NAIA Division I team Bluefield College Rams.
Murray is keen to bring the experience he gained in America to the NPL.
“Playing in America was very different to playing everywhere else, players are a lot bigger, and focus more on strength so it’s a more physical game,” he said.
“Australian footballers are smaller in comparison so I had to develop into a more technical player to force my game onto them.”
Murray is expecting a successful season with Sunshine Coast FC Head Coach Roger Hardwicke at the helm.
“I think the players that Roger is bringing in are going to have a really positive impact on the team and if we work together I don’t see why the team can’t be in a top position,” he said.
“The way Roger coaches is a style that suits me and that will help me play as well as I can which will only help the team in the long run.”
