Another busy day at the Fire as we announce two further signings for the 2019 season. The club are delighted to secure Alex Van Kampen and Tyler Morse for this years NPL season.
Tyler (20) and Alex (20) both join us from local FQPL club Sunshine Coast Wanderers.
Tyler broke into the Wanderers first team last year making 11 appearances while also featuring 20 times in the clubs league winning U20’s side. He predominantly plays in centre back. Before playing for the Wanderers Tyler featured for Buderim and was previously with the Fire from 14-16.
Alex usually features in midfield and played in all of the Wanderers 20’s game this season and collected 10 goals along the way. Before playing for the Wanderers, Alex also featured for Buderim and the Fire at the same time.
Speaking on signing for the club Alex said “I’m really forward to looking to playing NPL football this year and testing myself against some of the best players in Queensland. Since coming into preseason I’ve been impressed with quality of player and coaching and I can’t wait to get started”
Speaking on the appointments Richard Hudson said “It’s great to have the boys on board. I think they will both have the ability to break into the senior side and be a big part of the set up not just this season but beyond.
Both boys bring different qualities to the team and with the older players around them, the boys will develop quickly”.
