The Fire are delighted to announce we will soon be welcoming the Barça Academy Brisbane to the Coast to take on our SAP & NPL Junior squads in a joint gameday. Both our Girls and Boys SAP squads will take part along with our 2019 NPL U13 side.
Speaking on the announcement Technical Director Melvyn said “It’s great to welcome the Barça Academy to the Coast.
Barcelona are obviously a global powerhouse and it’s a great opportunity for our SAP and NPL teams to showcase themselves against an opposition that we usually wouldn’t get the opportunity to face.
We hope that this is the first of many opportunities between the two clubs and we can continue to build on this day to offer our players unique opportunities to play the game”.
The Barça Academy Brisbane is the one of only two official academies of Barcelona Fc in Australia and is currently headed up by Taher Mortezaie.
We are currently working on creating more opportunities with our partner clubs across Australia and globally to showcase our players on the international stage.
