Match Guide #3 | SCFC v BSFC

From the Technical Director.

Welcome to our visitors from Brisbane Strikers, With our Juniors away on the Gold Coast this weekend against newly promoted Gold Coast Knights, we have the top three teams at home.

Without covering old ground on last week’s results, the U18’s – Senior Men’s squads have been working as hard as ever to prepare for what should be 3 exciting fixtures.

Hosting our biggest rivals always brings with it plenty of fierce but friendly rivalry, and we don’t expect anything different with today’s fixtures.

We are again supporting a worthwhile charity in the shape of Leukaemia Foundation, which see us collect gold coin donations upon entrance to the games. We hope to see as many people down as possible watching the old foes go head to head, as well look to start to take point off teams and climb the ladder.

Good luck to all Senior staff,

Melvyn

From Our Head Coach

I’d like to welcome Brisbane Strikers players, staff and supporters to what promises to be a fantastic day of football. We look forward to locking horns with a club that we have had a healthy rivalry with over many years, and I hope both clubs can put on a good show for todays crowd.

It has been a tough start to the season for us so far results wise, with two defeats, but there have been many positives that we can take from the games against Brisbane City and Easts.  The effort from the boys on the field and at training has been first class, and I believe we will need to show some patience with what is a very young squad.

We have oodles of talent, but sometimes it is the experience of playing a number of games at this level that will build the belief and confidence required to go on and win games of football.  There aren’t any easy games and Brisbane Strikers are another big test for us, but we will be giving everything we have.

Enjoy the game,

Mitch

Captain’s Thoughts

With the turn of the new week, we have another opportunity to set right the previous result. Last Sunday against Brisbane City proved a tough game but I get the feeling that we’re close to turning the tables and getting a positive result.

It was great to see so many people out supporting us last weekend, thanks for your support.

See you there,

Scott Ferries
