Junior Match Reports – 9 April 2017

Under 18 Boys – Sunshine Coast FC (0) v Brisbane Roar FC/QAS NTC (9)

Even though Roar were sitting only one spot above the Fire on the ladder they knew they were in for a tough match with several players either injured or committed to other games.

The visitors didn’t waste any time with Besinac putting the ball in the net at only 4’ mark quickly followed by another at 7 minutes.

8’ and Fires centreback Ward received a yellow card following a harsh tackle.

13’ saw Roar get another opportunity on goal with a solid strike which was deflected by fire defence. Roar maintained possession to get another dangerous surprise shot fired off which was saved by an impressive late save by Porter.

30’ saw  Cuttler picking up Roar’s 3rd goal with Almir quickly following it up with another at the 34’ mark.

Fire appeared to settle a bit towards the end of the first half and maintain a bit more possession but that didn’t stop Roar who still managed to get a few shots off on target before half-time also to be saved by Porter.

54’ and a Roar attack straight through our centre saw Cuttler put his second goal away.

Around the hour mark Fire struggled to keep their shape putting pressure on keeper Morrison who deftly managed to keep the ball out of the net despite a wave of Roar attacks.

61’ and the successive attacks eventually broke through with Mueller netting another for Roar.

64’ within minute of Champness stepping on the pitch he put another on the board for Roar.

74’ Roar scored again with midfielder Williams putting one in back of net.

77’ saw Dawson receive a yellow card following an aggressive tackle shutting down an attack down the wing.

81’ with Fire struggling for possession the visitor’s attacker Cuttler managed to put away his third to finish the game on a hat trick.
