Sunshine Coast FC sign NPSL Eagles duo

Sunshine Coast FC has commenced player signings with the announcement of the signing of midfielder, Daniel Tesoro and Spanish goalkeeper, Ferran Borras for the upcoming PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2018 season.

Tesoro and Borras’ signings mark the beginning of Sunshine Coast FC’s campaign to re-establish the club as a top five mainstay.

“I am very happy to announce the signing of Daniel and Ferran,” said Sunshine Coast FC Managing Director Noel Woodall.

“The aim this year is to put together a team that presents a serious challenge in the NPL. With the signing of some of our outstanding young players from the 2017 season combined with the signing of a solid group of quality experienced players we are working towards a strong performance in 2018.”

The duo has experience in the United States in both the NAIA college system, playing for Central Methodist University and fourth-tier National Premier Soccer League club Joplin Demize.

Tesoro, 25, began his football career with NSW Premier League outfit MacArthur Rams, Brisbane Roar Youth and Redlands United (BPL) before moving to the US and taking the field for Monroe Community College (NJCAA) and SUNY Cortland (NCAA).

Borras, 21, grew up in several youth programs with Alicante C.F., S.C.D. Carolinas, SJ UCAM Universidad and Kelme C.F.

The pair joined forces in 2015 while playing for Central Methodist University with Tesoro captaining the squad to the Heart of America Conference Semi Finals with a 13-4-2 season record.

They were then recruited to Joplin Demize in the NPSL 2015 season where Tesoro once again captained the club.

Tesoro and Borras parted ways in 2016, with the midfielder signing with Mass United FC for the American Soccer League season before returning to Australia to play for Logan FC in the Brisbane Premier League.

The pair will now be reunited for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland 2018 season, bringing their unique brand of football to the national second-tier.
